Phobia

Magnesium is extremely important for good health. Yet for far too many years this vital mineral has been largely overlooked by most doctors. Shockingly, most laboratory blood tests do not even measure magnesium status although magnesium is involved as an essential factor in more aspects of health than any other mineral. Take fear for instance, it helps protect us. Many people who have phobia issues don't seek medical care because of embarrassment or the fear of taking medicine. Simple treatments are available to help control panic attacks and panic disorder.  The similarities between panic disorder and other diseases may add to the person's fear and anxiety during and after a panic attack.  Just the fear of having a panic attack is often enough to trigger the symptoms. A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder.

Panic attacks are sudden surges of overwhelming fear that that comes without warning and without any obvious reason. Women were more likely than men to have experienced anxiety disorders (12 per cent compared with 7 per cent). The highest rate of anxiety disorders (16 per cent) was observed among women aged 45-54 years. For men, the prevalence of anxiety disorders varied little with age. For women, the prevalence of affective disorders generally declined with age. Young men were particularly prone to substance use disorders, with 22 per cent of those aged 18-24 being affected.

Magnesium is important for the electrical stability of human and animal cells, the support of cell membrane integrity, muscle contraction, nerve conduction, and the maintenance of vascular tone. Since phobia related illnesses have an effect on mental stability, magnesium may preserve the integrity of cellular communication within the human brain. This along with future research may open door to phobia discoveries that could help millions of people.
